The Medal Table of Golf Digest ‘Hot List’ 2013
March 3, 2013 – The 10th edition of the Golf Digest ‘Hot List’, with the March issue of Golf Digest Spain just out, brings together the latest in golf equipment and, under the criteria of its team of judges, determines what deserves the gold medal in each category of clubs in the golf bag.
The cover of this year’s issue is a field sown not with wheat but with ‘irons’, surrounding a player who stands with his back to us, as though he was in a sea of doubt when choosing his new equipment.
Just over a hundred clubs, including drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters, have been selected and awarded with medals, representing less than the half of the clubs sent to Golf Digest by the manufacturers.
At MyGolfWay.com we have taken advantage of the hard work done by Golf Digest, and we’ve produced a medal table (as if it were a ranking of countries in the Olympic Games), in which we establish the Brand Ranking by value (gold and silver) and number of medals, to discover who the champions are. Ping repeats the first place of 2012 by number of clubs with a gold medal (11), followed by Callaway (9), TaylorMade and Titleist (both 8). Meanwhile, the first place by total podium of medals is again taken by Ping (13), followed by Callaway (10) and TaylorMade (9).
If we consider the sumary by companies, Callaway Golf achieves the first place adding together the 16 golds of Callaway and Odyssey, followed by the combination of TaylorMade/Adams/Yes! with 14 golds, and third is Ping with 11 golds. For total number of medals, TaylorMade/Adams/Yes! would come first with 19 awards, followed by Callaway/Odyssey with 17, and Ping with 13.
