Honma Golf – Justin Rose, first No1 world player for the luxury Japanese firm
January 7, 2019 – Justin Rose has become today the first player in history to place the prestigious Japanese brand Honma Golf at the top of the golf world, as he is once again No.1 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).
Without having hit a single shot in any Tour event with his new T//World TW747 driver or his T//World TW747 ‘Rose Proto’ irons, the Englishman recently signed by Honma Golf, has regained the world throne after the update of the world ranking following the first PGA Tour event of the year, the Sentry Tournament of Champions held at the Plantation Course, in Kapalua (Hawaii).
Justin Rose doesn’t plan to start the season until the Desert Classic at Palms Springs, from 17th to 20th of January but, given the latest results and despite resting this week, he has recovered the No.1 place in the world ranking with an average of 9.46 points. He overcomes the previous leader, Brooks Koepka, who now is the Nº2 with 9.33 points.
The American player needed to end at least the 8th tied in Kapalua to stay at the top of the rank, but he finished 24th, nine shots behind his goal.
Thus, Honma Golf starts the year with one of its targets accomplished, which was to have the No1 player of the world as ambassador of the company, something that will surely bring it great success throughout the season.
